Affordable places to go for summer vacation

Summer vacation is approaching and it’s time to break out those flip-flops! There are so many fun things you can do over summer vacation, like go to the beach, hang out at the pool, or even go on some low-cost road trips.

Going to Wisconsin Dells is a great road trip with little cost! Say you wanted to go to Mount Olympus Water Park, for one night, it’s only $45! The waterpark is included with your stay. There are also great restaurants that are easily affordable. There are so many other things to do besides hitting the waterparks, like mini-golfing, escape rooms, mining, and fun museums like Ripley’s Believe It Or Not!

The beach is another fun place to go to in the summer (or course). Going to different beaches however are even better. The Navy Pier is on the shoreline of Lake Michigan located in Chicago. It has the Centennial Wheel (which was the replacement of the Ferris Wheel) as it’s biggest attraction, restaurants and so much more. The beach in Galveston, Texas is located on an island, in the Gulf of Mexico. Malibu is a town in California famous for its beaches and celebrity homes. Indiana Beach is also a great place to visit as well.

Camping is also fun, especially one with a pool or beach, and going with your friends. Hiking can also be a great experience while camping, just don’t forget to bring food and water. Having a bonfire at night and roasting marshmallows is almost essential to going camping.

Travelling down to Memphis or Nashville is also fun to go in the summer. In Memphis, they have Elvis’ home (Graceland), Beale Street, National Civil RIghts Museum (also where Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was killed), and Gus’ World Famous Fried Chicken. In Nashville, you can visit the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, the Parthenon, Opryland USA, and the Grand Ole Opry.

Nadia Perdue said “I think that Key Lime Cove is the best place to go. The waterpark inside is nice and it’s really fun.”

Visiting the Mall Of America isn’t exactly that cheap since you would have to bring lot of money to buy things at all of those stores, but it is still a great place to go. You can also visit the theme park inside. While in Minnesota, you can also visit their many museums and aquariums, along with Nickelodeon Universe.

Going down to Missouri is a lot of fun also. There are so many things to do in Missouri, including places like visiting the Gateway Arch, going to Silver Dollar City in Branson, Titanic Museum, Six Flags St. Louis, White Water Branson (which is a waterpark), and going to the Hollywood Wax Museum.

Anya Wallace says “The cheapest place is to stay home and sleep. It costs nothing.”
